• Individual paver cracking in a clean line. This is point-load failure, usually from a heavy vehicle tracking the same path or a thin paver (60mm) used where 80mm was specified. The substrate below is likely sound; the fix is replacement with correct thickness and a reinforced bedding layer.

DIY or Call Us?

What you can safely check yourself: walk the surface with a level and note any spot more than 3/8 inch out of plane. Check that downspouts discharge at least 6 feet from the pavement edge. Look for joint sand; if you can see the bottom of the gap, the interlock is compromised. These observations help us diagnose over the phone.

Where DIY goes wrong: lifting pavers without releasing the edge restraint first distorts the pattern and you’ll never get the lines back. Compacting the base without a plate compactor and lift lifts leaves soft spots that telegraph through in months. And the polymeric joint sand that locks everything together activates with water; hose it before it’s fully swept and you’ve glued sand to the surface.
